What is Deep-Rooted Fiction?

When, after a lifetime of dabbling in stories and poetry, I began to pursue writing as a profession, I asked myself one question:

If I had to describe my writing in one word, what would it be?

After much soul-searching and studying the stories I had already written and still longed to write, that one word became obvious:

Roots.

Whether historical or contemporary, romance or suspense, comedy or drama, my stories are all about people discovering, rediscovering, or fighting for their roots. That is my passion—writing edgy, uplifting stories about the deep roots of

Family,

Friendship,

and Faith.

My stories also have another set of deep roots, as the historian and researcher in me loves to write fiction based on

Real Places,

Real People,

and Real Events.

Put it all together, and you have my tagline,

Deep-Rooted Fiction TM
